Before I created Drunk Elephant, I experienced various skin issues. I was frustrated and confused, constantly trying different brands in search of a solution. Unfortunately, nothing seemed to work, or if it did, it was only temporarily effective. That's when I decided to educate myself about ingredients, their impact on the skin, and their role in product formulations. Through this process, I identified six ingredient categories that I believed were the underlying cause of my skin problems, which we now refer to as the Suspicious 6.

On the next page, you'll find a product description for our Shea Butter, Tripeptide-1, Avocado Oil, and Cranberry Seed Oil. These ingredients are all essential for maintaining healthy skin and addressing specific concerns such as moisturization, lip hydration, lip volume, and skin softening.

Our Lippe Balm, for example, is a nourishing lip balm that moisturizes and soothes dry lips. It contains fatty-acid-rich plant oils, peptides, sea fern algae, green tea leaf, and vitamin C. These ingredients work together to give your lips a plumper look and a better-defined lip line while neutralizing the free radicals and environmental aggressors that contribute to premature aging.

Key ingredients in our Lippe Balm include Shea butter for protecting the skin's barrier function, Tripeptide-1 for promoting healthy collagen production and fuller-looking lips, and Avocado oil, which is a great source of fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamins A, D, and E.

In a consumer-perception study with 30 participants over a span of 4 weeks, the following results were observed: 96% agreed that their lips felt protected, soothed, and comfortable; 86% agreed that their lips felt smoother; and 80% agreed that Lippe Balm relieved cracked, chapped, and/or flaky lips.

The difference with Drunk Elephant lies in our focus on maintaining healthy pH levels, utilizing formulations that the skin can easily recognize, ensuring small molecular structures, and incorporating effective active ingredients. Additionally, we completely avoid the Suspicious 6 ingredients, which we believe are the root cause of most skin issues.
